Critiques
The colours are all muted, but this really gives the desert feeling that the artist is trying to convey through this piece. It's such a simple idea, yet it really conveys strong messages. It is also cute and unique! I haven't seen a piece like this in a while!
In general, this piece is special and really fun.
The angle is what really strikes me. It seems to that this image was drawn with the idea of an aerial photo in mind. The front is crisp, clean, clear. A bit high but then the sweeping softened landscape in the background helps bring the image together. I really love how the bridge seems to have a jaggedness to it. As if it was constructed to be part of nature and not just out of it.
The expressions in the eyes of each character in this piece is very adorable and yet so sad. It reminds me of the look children give when they bring a stray home only to hear their parents say they cannot keep it. Combine this with how they are holding each other and it just amplifies this feeling.
As per usual, Parachena does not disappoint with yet another wonderful piece of art for all to treasure. My only question is, when will this and other such wonderful works of art be available at our local baby stores? Any parent would be quick to hang these in the nursery of their new born baby. I can even picture a line a plush stuffed animals to children to snuggle up against at night.
Bravo! A standing ovation is deserved.
